New Zealand announce their squad for the T20 World Cup: The New Zealand selectors have announced a 15-player squad for the 2022 T20 World Cup, with two players from Wellington Firebirds Finn Allen and Michael Bracewell.
Adam Milne will be available for selection after being called to replace Lockie Ferguson early in the tournament last October. After his recent performances wearing both gloves at home versus West Indies, Devon Conway has been named as front-line wicketkeeper.

“It’s always a special time announcing a World Cup squad and I’d like to congratulate the 15 players selected today.” Gary Stead, the New Zealand head coach, said following the announcement.
“It’s especially exciting for Finn and Michael who are set for their first ICC events, while Martin Guptill is preparing for his 7th T20 World Cup – which in itself is an incredible achievement.
“It’s great to have this tournament so soon after last year’s event in which we played some really good cricket, but couldn’t quite get over the line at the end. With the nucleus of that squad retained along with the exciting additions of Finn and Michael, we should go into the tournament with plenty of optimism.”

The New Zealand Cricket Team will open their World Twenty20 campaign against Australia at the SCG on Saturday, October 22nd before facing off with Afghanistan (MCG) and England in two other matches that are set to take place next month.
