Alongside the West Indies, who previously hosted the tournament in 2010, this event promises to be spectacular. But the excitement doesn’t stop there.

Pakistan will take center stage in February 2025 as it hosts the Men’s Champions Trophy, a monumental event not seen in the country since 1996 when it co-hosted the Men’s Cricket World Cup with India and Sri Lanka.

And the excitement continues to build. In 2026, get ready for thrilling matches as India and Sri Lanka team up to host the Men’s T20 World Cup. It’s a historic moment as these two countries join forces for the first time to showcase this prestigious tournament.

But the surprises don’t end there. In 2027, another first-time major event host will be announced, sending anticipation soaring. Don’t miss the exciting Men’s Cricket World Cup coming to Namibia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa in 2027! This will be the first time Namibia will host the event, with South Africa and Zimbabwe having last hosted it in 2003.

Get ready for the action-packed T20 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in October 2028, followed by India hosting the Champions Trophy just 12 months later.

And that’s not all – the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup will also transform in both 2027 and 2031, expanding to include 14 teams and 54 thrilling matches

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, prepare for two groups of seven teams battling it out for glory, with the top three from each group advancing to the intense Super Six stage. From there, it’s a nail-biting journey through the semi-finals to the epic showdown. This exhilarating format is a throwback to the legendary ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup of 2003.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup tournament will kick off with four action-packed groups featuring the best teams from around the globe. The top two from each group will battle it out in the exhilarating Super Eights stage before advancing to the nail-biting knockout rounds, including the semi-finals and the ultimate showdown in the final. As for the Champions Trophy, it will stick to its classic format with two groups of four teams, leading up to the thrilling semi-finals and an epic final.

The ICC Board has approved the procedure for selecting hosts for upcoming Men’s, Women’s, and U19 events. The Men’s event hosts will be chosen in September, starting this month. The process for selecting Women’s and U19 event hosts will begin in November, providing a chance for new members to get involved.

ICC Acting Chief Executive Geoff Allardice said: “Having the ICC event schedule confirmed through to 2031 is a significant step forward for cricket and will form the basis of our growth strategy for the next decade. 

“The revised approach to selecting hosts for our events will give us much more flexibility to grow the game and engage new fans. There is a smaller pool of countries with the infrastructure needed to host our senior Men’s events which narrows the selection process. Additionally, many of our Members expressed interest in hosting Women’s and U19 events which gives us a great opportunity to stage events in established and emerging cricket nations.”
